Mutant Whey
Overview
Mutant Whey is
a unique 5-Stage Whey Protein that triggers noticeable muscle growth and
increases nitrogen retention. Yes, whey protein helps you grow – but Mutant
Whey helps you grow bigger and faster.
New Mutant
Whey has been developed after 28 months of dedicated research. It is the
world's first protein to use specially selected proteins, each with their own
unique uptake rate. This 5-Stage Whey Protein allows each source its own unique
delivery to the limited number of protein receptor sites in your digestive
system.
What does this
mean? It simply means no wasted protein – 100% whey uptake! Each of the 5 whey
protein sources are 100% complete and rich in anabolic BCAAs and Glutamine to
help speed recovery.

Yeah that all sounds great on
paper but the fact is there is always going to be some “wasted” protein 100%
whey uptake is not a possibility. The real selling point on Mutant Whey is the
5-stage protein release, yes I know this isn’t the only product to do this but
it is a great idea and I’m surprised that more companies haven’t made a bigger
deal about it.
Taste
I had the
Strawberry
flavour and they are right it is “addictive”.
It fact it tastes damn good! Its mixes very well without a blender and comes
out thick and smooth like a milkshake despite me using water. I was happy to
drink 3 of these a day, I looked forward to it and I want one now damn it. I
think the days of horrific tasting protein shakes are behind us, they are all
delicious.
It’s
worth noting that even if you use single, double or even triple scoops it comes
out amazing so long as you adjust the liquid level accordingly. 10/10

Fairly
low protein count at 22g but you can double scoop as Mutant suggest. All in all
it’s a good profile but it does have the noticeable exception of Creatine in
which most protein shakes do have these days so you would have to supplement
with that on top of Mutant Whey. Although I suppose this is billed as a “Whey”
protein so adding in Creatine and other “optional extras” would make it more of
an all-in-one so this omission can be excused. The 5-Stage protein that should
be their main marketing ploy is hidden under the “ingredients” section but it
all means that they will be absorbed at slightly different speeds so it will
drip feed your muscles.
I love
the added Glutamine this should really help with recovery meaning that Mutant
Whey can and should be used post workout as well as throughout the day. 7/10

Serving Size: 1 scoop (36 g)
Servings Per Container: 63
Mutant
are being a bit sneaky here as they show the servings a 1 scoop but recommend
that you take 2 scoops at a time effectively halving their value. I don’t like
when companies mess you around like that.
However
if you want to take one scoop at a time then it is a good sized bag. If you
take the recommend dosage of 2 scoops its an average sized bag. 7/10
Price
There had to be sticking point! This is not a cheap protein.
Costing you upwards of £32.75 for a 2.2kg bag means that each (2 scoop) serving
costs you £1.02. There are more expensive proteins on the market but this is a
top end product and you are paying for that. It’s the equivalent of not doing
your food shopping at Marks and Spencers and going to Waitrose instead. 6/10

Results
I’ll be damned, the 5-Stage, drip
feed your muscles, addictive tasting and 100% badass Mutant Whey will actually
turn you into a Mutant. This is an effective protein supplement. In fact saying
that Mutant Whey is effective is doing this product a disservice. It’s awesome.
I used this Mutant Whey in conjunction with a Creatine product and an intense
training regime (GVT baby), I used Mutant Whey before and after my workout and
another serving during the evening. All my servings were single scoops (as
that’s all I needed to hit MACROs). I gained 5lbs of solid muscle during the
month. Have you ever run GVT before? You are in agony for 99.99% of the week,
using Mutant Whey I felt agony maybe only 25% of the week. As a recovery
product it works as one of the best. As its fairly low calorie as well it is
easy to keep fat gain down which is handy because as this taste so good if it
was a high calorie shake I’d have to book my slot on “The Biggest Loser”.
The only down side to Mutant Whey
is the price. If money is not an issue to you then I urge you, no I plead with
you to try Mutant Whey. I assure you though that you are paying for quality. If
you can find it on offer for say less than £25 first I want you to buy it, then
I want you to tell me where you’ve found it so I can stock up!
I have said that I would never give a product
a perfect 10 but this is going to be flipping close.
Drum roll please…..
9.99/10 (if it was slightly cheaper I would have given it a perfect
10)
