What we have here is a protein porridge to
get you off to a good start to the day, 12.5g of protein isn’t very high though.
Surprising low carb content as well considering this is a porridge which is usually high in carbohydrates. The sugar is a
little bit high at 5.5g but more or less what I expected it to be.
Of course if you make it with milk instead
of water this will increase the calories and nutritional value.
Taste
To
be honest I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this product however this is one of the
best flavoured breakfast supplements I've had. The blueberry taste is spot on.
It's a very nicely balanced mix between the oats and blueberry sweetness. The
texture is spot on as well.

Price
£19.99 for 14 servings. So it’s slightly
pricey but much cheaper than buying breakfast out each morning.
Results
I'm
not really a morning person and don't really enjoy breakfast so this product
was perfect for me. I normally have to force myself to eat but I looked forward
to my JBrek. It's so easy to mix and get a good consistency as well, I can’t
think of a single time that it came out lumpy. It has the great added bonus of
being able to be enjoyed hot or cold, so is a great year round supplement and yes I
did try it cold straight from the shaker, not as nice as the hot version but perfectly
acceptable. It's perfect for somebody on the go and keeps you full until lunch
and that’s really important as it’s most likely going to be used by people on a
calorie restricted diet as a breakfast replacement.
The
nutritional content is quite where I’d like to be (higher protein and lower
sugar) but that’s not the end of the world, you’d just adjust the rest of days
macros accordingly. At £1.42 a serving its not cheap but still fairly good
value when compared to breakfast from a shop. JBrek has its faults but they don't detract from how good this product really is. 8/10
