Caffeine is well-known to contribute to mental alertness, concentration, and it can increase performance during exercise. 

Acetyl L-Carnitine (ALC) is the acetylated form of L-Carnitine that has slightly different characteristics and it’s one of the most popular Carnitine analogues. During strenuous exercise a large portion of L-Carnitine is converted to ALC inside the mitochondria by the Carnitine O-Acetyltransferase enzyme.

Good old reliable L-Carnitine in its most popular form ALC and L-Tartrate which has shown some positive results on muscle growth as well as fat burning. The caffeine content is kept fairly low so its not a stimulant heavy fat burner. This seems to be geared more towards making fat available to be used as fuel during your workouts.

Taste

I had the Blood Orange flavour and it didn’t taste great but it was drinkable. It does mix up fairly smoothly but it takes a lot of shaking. If you’re too keen to drink it and only give it a half-hearted shake then you’ll get a gritty drink.

Results

This boils down to how you prefer to take L-Carnitine. If you want a drink then this is for you, if you are happy with a tablet then you might want to stick with what you have. Thermo-FX doesn’t provide a significant upgrade to a tablet so if you’re happy then maybe stick to popping pills for now.

The actual product Thermo-FX isn’t too bad. I think L-Carnitine is a fantastic supplement and everyone looking to lose weight should make sure its in their supplement cupboard. I like the idea behind L-Carnitine L-Tartrate and it has had some great responses in clinical trials, unfortunately I didn’t notice any of the results in my 20 day trial but then it was only 20 days. A product like this is better used over a period of months not days. When supplemented for longer periods (over 3 months in the trial I read) it has been shown to increase fat oxidation and 9/10 subjects showed an increase muscle growth along with fat loss.

I have confidence that this product would work if used long term – its for patient people who are in this for the long run and not after a quick fix. 7/10
