100% Casein Complex is a Micellar Casein dominant milk protein blend exclusively from casein milk proteins. Casein is high in the essential branched-chain amino acids (BCAA’s) and very high (higher than Whey) in L-Glutamine, the most abundant free amino acid in human blood. 100% Casein Complex’s protein contributes to the maintenance and growth of muscle mass and also to the maintenance of normal bones. This product’s milk proteins are so-called complete proteins, because they provide the body with all the necessary types of amino acids, including the 9 amino acids the body cannot synthesize and must be supplied by the diet (i.e. Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Valine). Extra L-Glutamine and Taurine plus the digestive enzymes Papain and Bromelain are added to the formula!

The calcium present in 100% Casein Complex contributes to normal muscle function, energy-yielding metabolism and neurotransmission. It is also needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.

23g’s of slow digesting Casein protein which is slower digesting than other forms of protein meaning it’ll keep you feeling full for longer and it makes it an ideal choice for a night time protein fix.

I’m never keen on seeing Sugar over 1g in my shakes and this has 3g.

Taste

I have the Belgian Chocolate flavour and it tastes really nice, it’s quite sweet but not sickly. It sometimes had some slight mixing problems and came up a little lumpy but with a decent shaker and some vigorous shaking it smoothed out.

Results

A casein protein shake is one of the most under used supplements in the market and possibly the missing ingredient in your supplement stack. I always have one in my bulking supplement stack because I find that it really accelerates my results. I used this about 30 minutes before bed and as its slow digesting it’ll keep your muscle drip fed throughout the night and stops you from dropping into a catabolic state. You could also use it when meals are a few hours apart or as a post workout shake.

It tastes nice, it’s reasonably priced and it does the job. I’m not overly keen on the 3g Sugar but since this is going to be used primarily whilst bulking that can be forgiven.  23g's of protein is about average for a shake, if you need to double it up to hit your Macros then that can be done but you might want to use a blender because of the slight mixing problems.

I don’t really have any major flaws with this Casein shake, it’s really very, very good and in line with the quality that all Scitec products showcase. 8/10
