A nice low calorie shake – perfect for a quick protein boost in between meals when you are on the go. Not an ideal post workout but it would at least kick start recovery and help prevent muscle breakdown whilst you are on a calorie restricted diet. The main point of this shake though is to help you with a little fat loss. Green Tea and Carnitne lead the way with fat burners – they are very common ingredients but they have been proven to work. Chromium has had some clinical studies that shows that it helps with cravings.

The protein itself is whey concentrate so its fast acting – I would have thought a slower digesting protein would have been a better choice for a diet shake which would keep you fuller for longer but I trust in Bio Synergy’s decision making.

Taste
I have only tried the strawberry and it was one of the best tasting strawberry shakes that I have had. It mixed well with water but was especially nice with soya milk or just milk (extra calories but its so much nicer). There was no after taste and I found it to be quite filling despite it being only a whey shake – that chromium must be working!

Results
With diet shakes you want it to help you lose a bit of fat but you have to understand that it won’t work by itself you still need to work hard and diet properly. This shake is supposed to be an extra weapon in the war on fat. With weight loss lots of little changes make a lot of difference.

As a product I used on a daily basis either as a meal replacement, snack between meals or a post workout and it works best as the snack between meals – its filling but not quite enough to be a full meal. As a post workout shake it works but it doesn’t have enough carbs to be a proper post workout (don’t be scared of carbs post workout!) but overall it’s very good for most times of the day.

Skinny Protein tastes so good that I looked forward to drinking the shake which means you are unlikely to miss a serving or meal which should help keep you on track with your diet. Personally I used a little less liquid than recommended as I like my shakes a bit thicker but I have very few complaints about Skinny Protein, it is an excellent choice for women who are looking to diet down for summer. 8/10
