Super Vitality Super Granola Review

 Image

Overview
Here is what Super Vitality have to say:

Super Granola is the perfect high protein breakfast or snack.
Our delicious, low GI mix of oats, rice protein and antioxidant-rich blueberries will provide you with the fuel you need to reach your goals.

Packed with Rolled oats, Blueberries, Cranberries, Brown rice protein, Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds & Flaxseeds.

Nutritional Information

Container Size: 500g

Total Carbohydrates: 18.7g

Dietary Fibre: 0.9g

-Saturates: 1.3g
Sodium: 9.3g

So just under 12g of protein in a breakfast cereal, that's not too shabby. It is fairly high in Carbs (its Granola!) but it’s all what I would call good Carbs but I’m not sure about that 9.3g of Sugar, I would hope most, if not all, of that is naturally occurring sugar from the Blueberries and Cranberries. Still rather high though.

Taste
Amazing. Its really good, I looked forward to it. Plus although 50g’s of Granola doesn’t look a lot in a bowl it really does fill you up and keep you going for the morning.

Price
£6.49 for 10 servings. That doesn’t sound too much, its more than a box of Cornflakes from Sainsburys but this has top quality ingredients and 12g’s of protein in.

Side Effects
None

Results
I would have it every single day if I could. Its delicious, filling and gives a great amount of energy. I loved the Blueberries and Cranberries in it and I don’t normally like fruit in cereals. 12g’s of Protein is an OK amount I would like it nearer 20g mark but there are ways around that. Due to the high sugar content I wouldn’t use this everyday of the week I would reserve it for a high Carb day or a cheat day but it would be something to look forward to. The sugar content is really my only objection apart from that it’s a great breakfast option. 7/10

Overview

Here is what Super Vitality have to say:

Super Protein Raspberry + Acai : Diet

  • SLOW & FAST RELEASE PROTEIN
  • ACAI & RASPBERRY SUPERFOOD
  • CLA & L-CARNITINE
  • RASPBERRY KETONES
  • STEVIA NATURAL SWEETENER

If you’re looking to tone up, burn fat or change shape, Super Protein Diet is your new best friend.
The delicious, low-fat mix of slow and fast release protein with antioxidant rich superfoods and researched weight-loss ingredients will help fuel your body to reach your goals.

Nutritional Information

Container Size: 454g
Serving Size: 1 scoop (30g)
Servings Per Container: 15

Amount Per Serving:

Total Calories: 115
Protein: 23.5 g
Total Carbohydrates: 1.84g
-Sugars: 1.84g
-Dietary Fibre: 0.29g

-Saturates: 0.6g
Sodium: 31mg

Calcium: 232mg
CLA: 500mg
L-Carnitine: 250mg
Raspberry Ketones: 50mg

That’s not a bad profile for a diet protein, coming in at 115 calories but providing 23.5g of protein is great, not too keen on the 1.84g of Sugar though. You get a good serving of CLA and a modest serving of L-Carnitine both excellent fat burners. Never been a fan of Raspberry Ketones but the inclusion of them certainly won’t hurt you or your results. Although not listed it does also contain Acai Extract which has some fat burning properties.

Taste
It tastes very nice like a home made summer fruits smoothie but you have to get the water level right, if you make it too watery it’s not very nice, after a bit of experimentation you’ll be fine. It always has little bits in as well but I think that’s by design not just it hasn’t mixed well, it makes it more like a proper smoothie. All in all very pleasant and no after taste.

Price
£19.99 for 15 servings is rather pricey.

Side Effects
None

Results
I like it. It does exactly what it’s supposed to there are no secrets, no frills, no filler ingredients just a nice tasting shake that will help you drop a little bit of weight. Super Vitality recommend you use this post workout but really it can be used at any time of the day, personally I really enjoyed kick starting my day with one, it is surprisingly filling and gives you decent energy for normal day to day tasks, you don’t feel sluggish after have one of these. It has a good ingredient list and provides enough protein to make worth while, combine that with the inclusion of 2 of the best fat burning ingredients around CLA and L- Carnitine and it has all the makings of a great shake. It is a little bit expensive but it is a quality product so I guess on this occasion you really do get what you pay for. 8/10

Protein Fusion T3mpo Review

 T3MPO Pre Workout Fuel

Overview

Here’s what Protein Fusion have to say:

The ingredients of T3MPO have been carefully blended to provide a high intensity boost of power, strength and concentration. This product will give you unrivaled drive and energy to achieve your goals in every training session. A seriously strong product.

How it works:

Beta alanine is a naturally occurring non-essential amino acid that is converted to other chemicals that can then affect muscles. It’s needed for the production of carnosine, Carnosine is needed by muscle cells to act as a buffer to control intracellular Ph. Too much acid accumulation by muscles is thought to contribute to fatigue. Beta alanine is a relative new to the sports scene, during high intensity weight training or sprint work, beta alanine can reduce the symptoms of fatigue. Additionally, supplementation with beta alanine may improve the muscular endurance of older adults, as carnosine declines with age.

Arginine Alpha-ketoglutarate (also known as AAKG and arginine) is a non-essential amino acid that is necessary when it comes to making nitric oxide in the liver. Both AAKG and nitric oxide amplify the beneficial muscle-building effects of exercising and nutritional supplements. It is also used to increase sexual energy and sterility in men. People take alpha-ketoglutarate to improve peak athletic performance because it helps the liver break down by-products of muscle exercise such as ammonia. Athletes believe AAKG supplements help them exercise longer with less pain and stiffness, and build up more lean body mass.

Taurine is an amino acid that is found in large amounts in the heart and brain. It is also found in food sources. Taurine functions as an antioxidant. Antioxidants protect the body's cells from damage that results from certain chemical reactions involving oxygen (oxidation). Taurine is also said to improve mental and athletic performance.

Creatine Monohydrate is a nitrogen-containing organic acid that is naturally produced from amino acids in the kidney and liver. Creatine had become a popular natural way to enhance performance and build lean body mass. When creatine is added to a workout regime, the data suggests that supplements can improve athletic performance in high intensity events of short duration. Some studies also indicate that creatine can improve muscle strength and help weight lifters improve performance during resistance training.

Caffiene Anhydrous: Caffeine aids fat loss by binding to fat cells to enhance the removal of fat and inhibit its storage. It also facilitates the burning of extra fat during exercise. This drug is also well known for its ability to enhance fat loss.

Nutritional Information

You are looking at 750mg of caffeine for the full 1.5 scoop serving. That is a hell of a lot. You would need to be careful with the timing of taking this around a fat burner or even a cup of coffee.

You get a good serving of Beta Alanine which does wonders to reduce fatigue and will see you through that extra set at the gym.

Taste
It tastes bad. No preworkout tastes great but this is serious case of chug it as fast as possible. I had Tropical flavour, actually I think that’s the only available flavour for now.

Side Effects
Light-headedness from all the caffeine first time using the full 1.5 scoops, fine after that.

Price
£24.99 for a maximum of 50 servings. That’s pretty good value.

Results

This is certainly one of the strongest preworkouts I’ve used. On full dosage I powered through workouts without even noticing that I was in the gym. It really is insanely strong. This isn’t a pump product, this is a pure focus and drive in a tub. It is such a shame it tastes so bad because it would be a phenomenal product otherwise. It takes just over 15 minutes to really hit you and best be in the gym when the energy rush arrives or you’ll start to shake a bit! Its moderately priced as well probably slightly on the cheaper end of the price spectrum, couple that with the fantastic energy boast you get and it really does make T3mpo a great option for a preworkout, if you can stomach the taste. 7/10

Results
I’ve never used a brown rice protein powder before. I was expecting it to have a strange taste but it’s not noticeable in any food that I tried it in. It’s a convenient way of added extra protein into your diet, that’s its only purpose. I can’t imagine many people substituting their precious Whey for Brown Rice but it would be a fantastic alternative or addition to anyone's supplement cupboard and very useful for those out there who are Lactose intolerant. It’s good to mix up your protein sources anyway as they all have slightly different Amino profiles.

Realistically this is never going to be anyone’s main protein source but it would make a great addition to a supplement regime. 7/10

Fortify your favourite foods with a spoonful of Pulsin's Whey Protein Powder.

I’ve never used a protein powder that’s not a shake before. It is a great way of adding 10 or 20g’s of protein to your breakfast to help hit your macros without really thinking about it. There is no taste so its incredibly versatile, I even added a scoop to my post workout shake to see if it mixed OK which it did but altered the texture slightly.

It’s a cheap, high quality source of protein which could easily add 20 or 30g’s of protein to your daily intake without even noticing it. This would prove very handy for those on high calorie diets who just can’t force in another shake or meal. 8/10

Pure Labs T6 Black Review

Overview

Here is what Pure Labs have to say:

The nations favourite slimming tablet is back and better than ever.
The original T6 Black formula created a huge stir in the markets, the endless weight loss success stories are out there, it was a product that truly spoke for itself. Could it be made better? Yes.
With newer ingredients available to the market, the new T6 Black is able to deliver better appetite suppression than ever before and is firmly keeping any kind of side effects at bay. Forget any jitters, forget a crash. The new T6 black promotes a sensation of mental clarity and positive mood, whilst providing undeniable appetite suppression.
1 Capsule a day is all you need for intense training sessions, 1 capsule is all you need to turn your body into a thermogenic powerhouse, 1 capsule is all you need Full Stop.

Nutritional Information
Serving Size: 1 Capsule
Servings Per Container: 90

Typical Values
Per Serving
N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine
200 mg
Caffeine Anhydrous
200 mg
Naringin
50 mg
Phenethylamine
50 mg
White Willow Extract (bark) (Standardised for 15% Salicin)
25 mg
Dendrobium Nobile Extract (Concentrated for Alkaloid Content)
25 mg

It’s a fantastic line up with Caffeine and Phenethylamine leading the way with the fat burning elements. The most interesting inclusion is White Willow Extract, I don’t think I’ve ever sent this in a fat burner, it’s purpose is to thin the blood ever so slightly so all the other ingredients act a bit faster. Anyone on blood thinners already would probably need to be careful with this product.

Dendrobium Nobile Extract is a mood enhancer so you’ll be super happy the whole time you are using it!

Taste
When it come to fat burners you really don't need to worry about the taste. It's in your mouth for a couple of seconds then it's gone. But the T6 does have a strong aroma and if you leave it on your tongue to long you will get a funny taste in your mouth.

Price
£29.99 for a tub containing 90 capsules. That’s not the cheapest out there…

Side effects
After 6 weeks of using T6 I have to say that I haven't had a single side effect.  No head aches or stomach cramps that some fat burners can cause.

Results
As with any fat burner what you put in is what you get out. If you stick to a good diet and exercise regularly you will see results. Your results will vary throughout your cycle though. In the first couple of weeks I noticed an initial drop in a significant amount of fat and water but as your body gets used to them that will start to slow down but I never put it back on though. I would say that this product is more geared towards appetite suppression than being an actual thermogenic, so when used in conjunction a stimulant free dedicated fat burner and perhaps a CLA then I would imagine the results would be sky high. All in all I would say this is a good product if you have a gap in your supplement stack. Not as strong as some on the market but a good fat loss aid that comes with no side effects other than being in a great mood the whole time. 7/10

Scitec 100% Beef Muscle

Overview

Here’s what Scitec have to say:

Our HYDROLYZED BEEF ISOLATE PEPTIDES is a complete, hydrolyzed beef peptide protein manufactured from fresh beef raw material, a 100% natural product with no hormones used. It is an enzymatically hydrolyzed (virtually “predigested”) beef protein, which means that its digestion and absorption will be fast. A complete protein source, such as ours, provides the body with all the necessary types of amino acids, including the 9 amino acids the body cannot synthesize and must be supplied by the diet (i.e. Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Valine). We also added an extra 2 grams of free L-Leucine to the product, which is one of the most important essential amino acids! Dietary proteins are the source of nitrogen and essential amino acids, which the body requires for tissue growth and maintenance. Therefore our 100% BEEF MUSCLE with its protein content contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass, and also to the maintenance of normal bones.

100% BEEF MUSCLE provides ample amounts of several types of carbohydrates – including the popular waxy maize starch – to fuel hard workouts and metabolic processes. Many beef protein products suffer from bad taste! Our beef protein tastes great, try it for yourself!

Nutritional Information

Sodium            212 mg
L-Leucine        2000 mg

Very low fat for a gainer which makes a bit of a change, 0g of Sugar is fantastic and a fairly standard 29.5g of protein. High Carb count helps get the calories in and keeps your energy high for those high intensity workouts.

Taste
It makes for a thick shake as do most gainers, it mixes very well and tastes great. I used the Creamy Vanilla flavour and was pleasantly surprised, there was no nasty aftertaste and was nice and filling to be used as a meal replacement or if you are splitting your meals out throughout the day then it would make a perfect meal between meals.

Price
£55 for 30 servings. Gainers are never cheap but this does seem a little pricey.

Side Effects
I had some slight bloating with the first gew servings but I think that was just my body reacting to the higher carbs after switching from a low carb diet to a high carb one. Nothing to worry about.

Results
The fact that this is a beef protein means it is great for any lactose intolerant people that struggle with a good whey/soy protein. This is designed to pack on slabs of rock hard muscle and I have precisely zero doubts that is exactly what will happen if used for a prolonged period of time, probably about 3-4 weeks to start to see a difference, maybe less. It tastes great, has a decent amount of servings per tub, its filling, it’s great to have post workout and as its beef protein means it will have a great amino profile. Personally I’m not normally a fan off mass gainers but this one isn’t a 1000 calorie fat gainer but a nice controllable 388 calorie so it will work into your MACROs and assist you to bulk up. My only concern is the high price tag but all of Scitec’s products are very competitively priced so I imagine this will drop in no time at all. Basically I can’t wait for the “off season” to really put this to work. 8/10

Forza T5 Review

Overview

Here is what Forza have to say:

T5 Super Strength is hugely popular amongst dieters struggling to achieve their body toning goals as well as fitness enthusiasts looking to take their workouts to the next level.
Caffeine is the most widely consumed stimulant in the world and is used to help improve memory, concentration, alertness, physical endurance and exercise performance.
For physical and mental stimulation, T5 Super Strength contains L-tyrosine. This amino acid is converted by the body into dopamine and adrenalin - two neurotransmitters that are crucial components in the ‘fight or flight’ response.
Niacin, also known as vitamin B3, contributes to the function of the nervous system and has been shown to reduce tiredness and fatigue.
Iron contributes to normal cognitive function, helps to support energy metabolism and is a vital part of the oxygen delivery system within the body.
Iodine is a trace element that contributes to normal thyroid function and production of thyroid hormones.

Serving Size
Serving Size: 3 tablets, 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
Servings Per Container: 20

The tablets are nice and easy to swallow, no nasty aftertaste either.

Nutritional Information

Per Capsule
Caffeine 185mg, L-Tyrosine 125mg, Green Tea (45% EGCG) 100mg, Niacin (Vitamin B3) 60mg, Spirulina 40mg, L-Taurine 20mg, Guarana 12mg, Iron 10mg, Chromium 130µg, Iodine 120µg
Other Ingredients: Magnesium Stearate (Anti-Caking Agent), Gelatin (Capsule Shell) - Derived from Porcine
Colourings: Titanium Dioxide E171, Brilliant Blue E133, Tartrazine E102

Green Tea and Caffeine are both reliable and common fat burning ingredients.

A lot of the other ingredients seemed to be geared towards what I would call T5’s secondary function as a preworkout.

Side Effects
A little jittery on the first few servings, after that no problems.

Price
£34.00 for 20 days supply if you are on maximum dosage so it’s definitely not the cheapest supplement on the market.

Results
T5 has 2 functions a fat burner and a preworkout. As a preworkout it certainly does give you an energy rush but T5’s real strength is as a fat burner. The stand out attribute that I found with T5 is that I never had an energy crash when the tablets wore off, with some highly caffeinated products when the effects fade away so do you, T5 seems to provide a nice clean energy supply. The water loss is sufficient to provide a visual difference in appearance over a relatively short period of time which keeps you motivated. As for actual fat loss over the course of a 20 day period with the aid of T5, along with diet and exercise regime, I lost just shy of 5lbs. As with all fat burners this isn’t a miracle pill it still requires you to do your part by hitting the gym hard and eating clean but it will certainly increase your results.8/10

Scitec Beef Isolate Review

Scitec Nutrition 100% Beef Hydrolyzed Isolate
Overview

Here is what Scitec have to say:

Beef has legendary status among hard training, goal oriented athletes – many people experience better gains consuming this meat over chicken. So why not have beef protein shakes when quality powdered raw material is available?

Our 100% HYDROLYZED BEEF ISOLATE PEPTIDES is a complete, hydrolyzed beef peptide protein manufactured from fresh beef raw material, a 100% natural product with no hormones used. 100% HYDROLYZED BEEF ISOLATE PEPTIDES is a tremendous alternative to milk proteins, especially over controversial soy proteins! Obviously for many people lactose intolerance or even milk allergy can be a serious problem, while many others follow some degree of a paleo diet, where dairy products are excluded and meat protein sources are favored. (The beef raw material contains no lactose, but this product is manufactured in a facility that processes lactose containing milk products!)

100% HYDROLYZED BEEF ISOLATE PEPTIDES is over 390% more concentrated in protein than a prime sirloin steak trimmed to zero fat! Our beef protein has no added Creatine! Why tie your Creatine use and exact dosing (or lack thereof) to a protein product? Made no sense to us! Many beef protein products suffer from bad taste! Our beef protein tastes great, try it for yourself! Dietary proteins are the source of nitrogen and indispensable amino acids, which the body requires for tissue growth and maintenance. Therefore our 100% HYDROLYZED BEEF ISOLATE PEPTIDES contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass, and also to the maintenance of normal bones.

So it not an all in one, mass gainer or a diet shake. Its designed to help you hit your MACROs and assist in repairing and building muscles after a workout. 25g’s of protein is about average and about right. 0g of Sugars is excellent though I hate seeing high amounts of Sugar in my shakes.

Taste
I used the Vanilla Delight flavour and it must be said I wasn’t keen on trying a Beef Protein shake and I was genuinely worried that it would taste like blended Steak . It doesn’t at all, it has a thicker consistency to a Whey shake and it looks like it hasn’t mixed even when it has. None of this matters though as it tastes amazing. Really, really nice even if it does have a slight aftertaste.

Price
£28.88 for a tub containing 30 servings. Not too bad, its about average I’d say.

Side Effects

Results
I’m not entirely convinced that Beef protein shakes are better than Whey but they definitely are closing the gap. Beef protein used to taste foul but Scitec have made it a thousand times better, I believe that the results from extended use would excel that of a Whey based shake due to Beef’s better profile. It’s very different kind of shake but in a good way, even a single serving of Hydrolyzed Beef Isolate is incredibly filling and could easily be used as a meal replacement. I wouldn’t want it to be my sole shake though I would want a Whey shake in my diet as well, I think that’s more through habit than anything else though, I feel strange if I haven’t had one.

The big question is should you try a beef protein shake? Damn right you should. Never be afraid of trying something new, this is a great shake and possibly a glimpse into the future of bodybuilding. 9/10

Scitec 100% Beef Concentrate Review

 Scitec Nutrition 100% Beef Concentrate

Overview

Here’s what Scitec have to say:

Beef has legendary status among hard training, goal oriented athletes – many people experience better gains consuming this meat over chicken. So why not have beef protein shakes when quality powdered raw material is available?

Our 100% BEEF CONCENTRATE is a complete, hydrolyzed beef peptide protein manufactured from fresh beef raw material, a 100% natural product with no hormones used. First let’s get one thing out the way, I can’t make sense of providing a scoop that isn’t the right size? Slightly low on the protein as well 19g’s is a little lower than I like to see. Doubling up is possible though.

Taste
I have to say I wasn't sure if I liked the idea of an almond chocolate flavoured beef protein shake but I was pleasantly surprised, the flavour was spot on. It mixed really well and had a lovely smooth texture, I didn't have a single lump. I tried it with water and with milk and both turned out great. Very good quality.

The fact that this is a beef protein means it is great for any lactose intolerant people that struggle with a good whey/soy protein. This is a food supplement shake best used after exercise to resupply your body with much needed nitrogen and amino acids. When used in the correct way your body recovers better, especially after weights and as it's 100% beef concentrate it will contribute to muscle growth and maintenance of muscle mass. On the whole I am very pleased with the results I received. With its great taste and easy mixing I think that this is an excellent product, and caters for everything you and your muscles need. My main criticism is the silly scoop size but that it’s a very minor gripe 9/10

GoNutrition CLA Review

CLA

Overview
Here is what GoNutrition have to say:

GoNutrition™ CLA is a high strength, 100% pure conjugated linoleic acid derived from safflowers. It is commonly used by bodybuilders and active individuals to support weight loss and body composition goals. Each CLA softgel contains 1000mg of this potent natural fatty acid and delivers high concentrations of the active isomers, c9,t11-CLA and t10,c12-CLA.

Nutritional Information
Each 2 capsule servings delivers 2000 mg

That’s very high for a CLA product, normally you get around 1600mg

You take, at maximum dosage, 2 caps 3 times a day, basically just remember to take them with meals. Not too bad, the softgels are easy to swallow and not too big either.

Taste
None, no aftertaste either. The tub doesn't smell either, always a plus.

Side Effects
None

Price
£17.99 for 180 capsules which is 30 days worth. So it’s not the cheapest on the market but it is still very good value.

Results
This is a very high quality CLA product, it should take between 2 and 3 weeks for any results to start to show through. CLA should be part of everyone’s cutting stack, this has a good amount of CLA included providing 2000mg which sets it up a cut above the majority of other CLA products. It’s relatively cheap as well, there are other size bottles you could buy if you choose to use less than the maximum dosage. I always find CLA products particularly good at shifting that stubborn fat around the lower abs, this was no exception, noticeably more definition and an overall leaner look by week 3. No complaints with this at all. 8/10

GoNutrition Protein Pancakes Review

 Protein Pancake Mix

Overview
Here is what GoNutrition have to say:

GoNutrition® Protein Pancake Mix is an amazing, easy to make high protein snack providing over 29g of protein per 50g serving. Our Protein Pancake Mix combines 80% whey protein, milk protein and egg white protein with our Pure Fine Oats, medium chain triglycerides and flax seed to produce a healthy and nutritious snack packed with high quality protein, low GI carbohydrates and omega 3 from flax seed. These delicious protein pancakes are available in our acclaimed Maple Syrup flavour and Unflavoured.

Nutritional Information

Per 50g serving:

·                                 Energy:813 kJ
·                                 Energy:194 kcal
·                                 Protein (dry basis):31.2g
·                                 Protein (as-is):29.9g
·                                 Fat:4.0g
·                                 of which saturates:2.8g
·                                 Carbohydrate:9.7g
·                                 of which sugars:2.9g
·                                 Sodium:0.16g

30g’s of protein is excellent for a treat. The Carbs are surprisingly low aswell, I thought they’d be much higher. One slight downside is the 2.9g’s of Sugar but to be honest since it’s a treat and shouldn’t be eaten daily then I wouldn’t worry about it.

Taste
Excellent, it tastes just like a normal pancake and its so damn simple to make, you mix it in your shaker like a protein shake then pour it into the pan, flip, repeat, job done. I never made a bad pancake or had any problems at all.

Side Effects
None

Price
£8.99 for 10 servings (each servings made either 3 or 4 pancakes for me) that’s great value and a price I’d happily pay.

Protein = Good.
Pancakes = Good
Protein Pancakes are the little bit of my life that has been missing until now. They are brilliant, perfect little high protein treats that can be enjoyed guilt free. How I’ve managed to get this far in my life without trying them is beyond me.

Anything like this makes dieting bearable, it makes you feel like you’ve cheated when it reality you’ve just force fed your muscles 30g’s of quality protein. It will help you avoid the unhealthy treats in your cupboard and will contribute to hitting your protein MACROs.  I can’t stress enough to you how much I want protein pancakes right now, I have a craving and possibly a slight addiction. 9/10
