Quite a long list of “cleansing” ingredients here but they aren’t so highly dosed that they will cause a severe laxative effect.

There are some fat burning ingredients in here but they aren’t dosed to act in that way but rather they are included to keep your digestion system running optimally.

Taste
The tablets didn’t have a nasty aftertaste and were easy to swallow.

Side Effects
Slight stomach upset – is that really a side effect though if the product is designed to do it?

Price
£30.49 for a months supply

Results
Its always a bit difficult to review these kind of products because they don’t always produce visible results its more a feeling they produce, when your taking Neptox you feel better, your digestion is functioning optimally, all the unwanted toxins in your body are flushed out and you feel great because of it. The first few days taking it I felt a little rough but once the toxins were…… lets say purged from my system I felt great, I imagine if I carried on with Neptox past my month long trial I would keep this feeling of wellbeing.

I exercise 5 days a week at a minimum and I eat clean the whole time apart from the scheduled re-feed so I assumed I'd be fairly free of toxins and rubbish floating about in my system but Neptox has shown me the way.

Whether Neptox is worth £30.49 a month is up to you and how much you value you place on a health digestive system but one thing is for sure Neptox is a great product. 8/10

Scitec Isotec

 ISOTEC ENDURANCE

Overview
Here’s what Scitec have to say:

Both resistance (weight) training and endurance exercise can decrease the body’s energy stores and lead to fluid and electrolyte loss. Hot and humid environments can further increase this process that may result in a drop of performance. Therefore it can be beneficial to replenish all lost vital substrates. Isotec Endurance provides a “tri-carb” source that means 3 different characteristic carbohydrates.

The prepared carbohydrate-electrolyte drink contributes to the maintenance of endurance performance during prolonged endurance exercise and enhances the absorption of water during physical exercise. Vitamin C helps to maintain the normal function of the immune system during and after intense exercise. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg (found in 1 serving of Isotec Endurance) in addition to the recommended daily intake of Vitamin C! Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Some of Isotec Endurance’s mineral ingredients contribute to one or more of the following beneficial physiological effects:
- Electrolyte balance
- Normal energy-yielding metabolism
- Reduction of tiredness and fatigue
- Normal functioning of the nervous system: neurotransmission and
muscle contraction including heart muscle
- Normal function of cell membranes
- Normal protein synthesis
- Maintenance of normal bones and teeth

We are looking at an endurance intra-workout product rather than a BCAA intra-workout product. Isotec focuses on supplying a blend of fast acting carbohydrates to fuel your workouts and keep you hydrated but also functioning to the best of your abilities.

Scitec have blended Maltodextrin, Dextrose, Fructose to keep you going and keep your muscles working.

Taste
I had the Lemon Ice Tea and I loved it, I thought it might be a bit sickly but it was great, really refreshing. It mixes up well and once you get past the rather irritating instruction to use ¾ of a scoop – just give me a smaller scoop!- there are no problems at all, no aftertaste or bloating.

Side Effects
None

Price
£12.19 for a tub with 30 servings in.

Results
Isotec may have just become one of my favourite Scitec products. Its simple. It tastes great. No unwanted side effects. Most importantly it does exactly what you want it to and more. Isotec really does give you a great energy boost and it’s steady energy not a big burst and a crash. The blend of carbs also gives you a great sustained pump – especially when taken with a  good preworkout.

Isotec tastes great, it might even be the best tasting intra-workout I’ve had. You can sometimes get a bit bloated when drinking quite a lot during your workouts but I never found that with Isotec, it did everything it was supposed to perfectly.

I’m torn as to whether I would like to see some BCAA’s thrown in or not, on the one hand it would make Isotec a more rounded Intra workout but on the other it would take away the simplicity that I like so much about it. If you’re desperate for some BCAA’s in your intra then buy some unflavoured ones and mix it in yourself. Isotec is priced at only £12 for 30 servings that works out to 40p a serving. That is insane value.

I think Scitec have outdone themselves here and created a fantastic endurance product and an amazing intra-workout. 9.5/10

PPS Nutrition ABH

Image result for actual bodily harm pps

Overview

Here’s what PPS Nutrition have to say:

Intensity, focus and DRIVE in a tub! #ABH is designed to give you that positive aggressive edge in the gym for your whole workout!
Are you ready to cause some Actual Bodily Harm! #ABH has been carefully formulated to not only give you increased endurance, strength and power, but more importantly that mental DRIVE to push through those vital reps where GROWTH occurs!
No comedowns, and a steady release on intensity providing you with a completely different edge towards your training, where INTENSITY and LOAD will go hand in hand for reps!
Contains a potent blend of active ingredients to fire you up for intense training including Beta-Alanine, Taurine, Alpha-Keto-Glutarate, Creatine Monohydrate and Caffeine, so there will be no excuses for you not to achieve those physical goals!
Put down your coffee, put down your fizzy drinks, and get ready to cause some serious DAMAGE in the gym!

Nutritional Information
Let’s assume you use the max dosage. You get 750mg of caffeine which is enough to give anyone a buzz and a blistering energy boost. Creatine, Beta Alanine, Taurine & AKG are all preworkout staples and included here in doses within the optimal range to enhance endurance, pump, energy and enhanced muscle building capabilities. There isn’t anything new or untested in here but they are all tried and tested ingredients that work.

Taste
I had the Lemon and Lime flavour and I was pleasantly surprised how good it tasted. With a preworkout the focus is never flavour but performance so it’s always nice to see a preworkout that tastes ok. It mixes well and you only need to use 100ml of water so that’s perfect.

Side Effects
So long as you stay within the recommended limits then none.

Price
£29.95 for a tub with between 50 and 17 servings depending on how much you choose to use per serving.

Results
Preworkouts accomplish a lot of things –besides being fun- and ABH seems to have gone at all of them with maximum strength. ABH will give you an energy buzz that doesn’t wear off too quickly but the important part here you don’t get the nasty energy crash that it associated with some highly caffeinated products. You get awesome pumps with ABH and it doesn’t take a lot of high rep work to get it even on low rep work I found that I would get a strong pump.

It’s worth noticing that you should start off with a low dose to get used to it rather than charge in with the full 15g dose. Personally I found that 10g was about right for me, I rarely felt like I needed the full dose.

Preworkouts prime your muscles for greater muscle growth through various mechanisms so its it important to pick a good one. ABH certainly won’t disappoint. 8.5/10

Jst Jodie JWhey

 JWHEY Lean Protein

Overview
Here’s what Jst Jodie has to say:

JWHEY is a time release protein blend for both slow & fast release. JWHEY is rich in amino acids, low in carbohydrates, fat, lactose and cholesterol. JWHEY is finished with a digestive enzyme complex.

You get just shy of 24g of protein made up of Whey Concentrate, Isolate, Casein & Egg Albumen so we have fast and slow proteins but this isn’t specifically a night time formula although you could use it as one.

The Carbs are low, the fats are low so this looks geared more towards dieters.

Taste
I had the Chocolate Peanut Butter and whilst the flavour was spot on I found it a little bit sickly. The Black Cherry flavour though is delicious! It mixes perfectly and is really smooth.

Side Effects

Price
£44.99 for a 1kg tub with 34 servings in.

Results
This is billed as a protein for any occasion, that it’s just a standard, daily, must hit my MACROS shake but it’s so close to being a great bed time shake. The blend of fast and slow proteins is slightly tipped towards fast digesting but if it was tilted the other way towards slow digesting then it would be great. It has all the other properties of a good Bedtime shake, it still can be used at night time but it won’t be as effective as a dedicated night time casein shake.

Throw a couple of fat burning ingredients in and it could be a good diet shake too, basically what I’m saying is JWhey is really good and could be the basis for so many other great, similar products.

JWhey has a good (not perfect) nutrition breakdown, a great taste but it is quite expensive for what you get. It works out to £1.32 a serving which for a standard protein shake is fairly pricey. Normally for this kind of price you more of an all-in-one style shake with a fair few extra ingredients thrown in. So my advice is if you can find it on offer then give it a shot Jodie might surprise you. 8/10

Scitec Oat N Whey

 OAT 'N' WHEY

Overview

Here’s what Scitec have to say:

Oats are a well-liked source of nutrition for many people, engaged in heavy physical activity or not. For your convenience, in this product we already combined oats and a high-quality whey protein for a meal that can be consumed at any time of the day to support your activities. The added protein is exclusively from whey. Dietary proteins are the source of nitrogen and indispensable amino acids, which the body requires for tissue growth and maintenance. Therefore the protein in Oat 'n' Whey contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass and also to the maintenance of normal bones.

So a fairly high calorie shake with high protein and carb content. I think this makes a great build for a breakfast shake or a postworkout.

Nice slow digesting carbs will keep you full for longer coupled with both fast and slow digesting proteins to drip feed your muscles throughout the period of time until your next meal.

Taste
I had the Vanilla flavour and it wasn’t the best, it was a little sickly, the texture can be a little bit off putting as its lumpy like it hasn’t mixed properly. You can eat it with a spoon but personally I preferred to drink it like any other shake.

Side Effects
None

Price

Results
I love breakfast, I think its my favourite meal. A good breakfast shake should not only help you hit your macros and fill you with healthy proteins, carbs and fats but keep you full until your next meal so you don’t snack. Oats N Whey kept me full for hours. I could easily last 3-4 hours with just one shake.

The nutritional profile is good for bulkers not so great for cutting cycles providing a hearty 40g of carbs. It doesn’t taste the best but it's easy enough to drink and it does the job well. It would be very handy as a backup breakfast if you were running late.

Its priced quite cheap at £18.79 and £1.25 is much cheaper than you’d pay for a porridge pot from a café and this has a better nutritional profile that hasn’t been crammed full of sugar and artificial sweeteners. I like Oats N Whey, which isn’t surprising considering I like both Oats and Whey, it is a well thought out breakfast shake to set your muscle building day off well. 8.5/10

So lets address the first issue that everyone is going to notice yes in this post workout you only get 11.9g of protein and 14g of Carbs. We’ll come on to this a bit later.
The rest of the formula looks good with Glutamine, BCAA and Beta Alanine being included to help with recovery mostly.

Taste
I had the Deluxe Chocolate flavour and it tasted fine & it mixed up well, I tried it with double and triple servings and so long as you increase the water they mixed up fairly smoothly. In normal servings you don’t get any grit or lumps and there is no nasty aftertaste.

Side Effects

Price

Results
This shake is called Super Gain – this is definitely not a mass gainer you only get 108 calories in a standard serving. It is geared more as a recovery shake but to make it useful you have to take a double serving to give you just shy of 24g of Protein and 28g of Carbs otherwise you’ll need to take a protein shake with your recovery shake which is just plain silly. Now I have no problems with taking double servings of products – usually to help me hit high macros – but I don’t see the point of a protein shake with only 11.9g of protein in.

Whilst this recovery and muscle building products lack of protein and carbs confuses me if you double up the servings then it’s actually quite good as a recovery product. Ideally this product would be a “triple serving” then you could begin to call it Super Gain but as it is I’m afraid 11.9g of protein isn’t going to cut it for anyone.

The cost of the product isn’t bad for a recovery or gainer but that’s at a single serving rate say you double every serving then you need to double the cost so it becomes £34.99 for 15 servings. It makes it a more expensive than a dedicated gainer or recovery product.

I might be wrong and there might be people out there who need an 11.9g protein, 108 calorie shake but I haven’t found any. If you double up the shakes then its actually a decent recovery product but it then becomes rather pricey. I think Super 7 is a bit of a misstep in an otherwise very good range from a good company. 5/10

So 26g of whey protein, no fat and no carbs/sugar and this a DESSERT! What more do you want? This is the perfect cutting cycle treat.

Taste
I have used all 5 flavours and they are all absolutely amazing. Genuinely delicious. If I had to rank them:
Lemon Cheesecake
Vanilia Cinnaswirl
Strawberry Cheesecake
Chocolate Mint
Double Chocolate

All of the flavours are spot on, they taste exactly like a blended dessert. They make a great shake but a better dessert take Efectiv's tip and mix it with some Greek Yoghurt for an amazing mousse.

There isn’t much to say really. It’s a whey dessert that’s perfect in everyway. It has a good enough profile to be used at any point of the day, use it as a breakfast shake, postworkout, mid-afternoon snack or of course a guilt free dessert.

I still can’t believe that there is virtually no fat or sugar in this shake, the taste is so spot on with these high calorie, high sugar dessert that you feel that there has to be something unhealthy hiding away but there isn’t. If you are on a strict diet then this is a gift from the heavens, it so good that you won’t need to break your diet anymore.

It’s quite pricey at £47.99 for 30 servings but its not just a treat it could double as a day to day protein shake. If you only use it as a dessert and a treat then that £47.99 might last you 10 weeks or more. I know that I’ll stock up if I ever find it on sale!

This is a great, surprisingly versatile dessert shake for anyone but especially those hard at work on their summer bodies. 9.5/10

Efectiv Mass

Overview
Here is what Efectiv have to say:

EFECTIV uses only the latest flavour technologies to ensure you enjoy every delicious mouthful. Each creamy shake is packed with 40g of premium muscle building proteins, energy-releasing nutrients and 199g of energy-containing carbohydrates.

OVER 1000 MASS BUILDING CALORIES

Each serving contains over 1000 calories and a carefully chosen selection of essential vitamins and minerals to support the body’s nutrient requirements during intense workouts and sport. Making it the perfect choice for weight trainers and sports people who find it difficult to consume enough calories to fuel their daily activities or mass building plans.

Nutritional Information

Container Size: 5.46kg
Serving Size: 3 scoop (260g)
Servings Per Container: 21

Amounts Per Serving

Total Calories: 1000 kcal
Protein: 40 g
Total Carbohydrates: 199 g

Dietary Fibre: 5 g
Fat: 5 g
-Saturates: 1 g
Sodium: 25 mg
Creatine Monohydrate: 1600 mg
L-Glutamine: 400 mg
Beta Alanine: 77 mg

You can’t argue with a 1000cal shake! The protein and carb levels are pushed to the max, I can’t imagine anyone wanting more than 1000cal in a shake. This is clearly geared as a postworkout shake but you could use it at any time of day.

The carbs and protein are made up with fast and slow digesting elements to fuel recovery and growth. Creatine and Glutamine have been included but are lightly dosed so you will want another source in your supplement plan.

Taste
I had Double Chocolate and I’m not a massive fan of chocolate shakes but this was one the better ones, it wasn’t bitter or sickly but easy to drink and had a nice smooth texture. Its rare that a mass gainer mixes well but this was very good and came out perfect unless you left it too long then it needed a bit of a reshake (thats a real word!).

Side Effects
None

Price
£64.99 for a 5.45kg bag with 21 servings

Results
This review is a simple one. Does it add mass?
Yes...
So we’re done here right? Well not quite there are a few things to take into consideration.
First the nutritional profile: I would have like to seen a few more grams of healthy fats in there and some more Creatine maybe taking it up to the 3-5g bracket apart from that though it’s a good build for a mass gainer.
Then the taste: I generally found it to be a pleasant experience to take my postworkout serving, I tend to hit the gym early morning so this almost doubled as my breakfast (well first breakfast anyway) I never struggled to drink it and it never repeated on me.

Efectiv Mass is quite pricey coming in at just over £3 a serving but a bulking phase is never cheap, neither is a cutting phase come to think of it, man bodybuilding is an expensive sport.

Efectiv Mass isn’t just good at adding muscle to your puny frame though it is also an amazing recovery shake, those heavy weights you lift on a daily basis won’t leave you crippled whilst you take your postworkout serving.

The only real drawback to Efectiv Mass is the price apart from that it is a phenomenal Mass Gainer/Recovery Shake/Post Workout and occasional breakfast. 8.5/10
