Here’s what MyProtein have to say:

These indulgent bars are available in 5 fantastic flavours which include; Lemon Cheesecake, Chocolate, Almond Vanilla, Strawberry Vanilla and Apple Cinnamon.

Each bar provides 20g of protein per serving which will contribute to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. My Bar Zeros are low in saturated fat and provide 90% less carbohydrates than a standard protein bar, making them the ideal snack to increase your protein intake. The high protein content in these bars is sourced from milk protein which contributes to the exceptional amino acid profile. Unlike many other protein bars, there are no polyols added to My Bar Zeros.

The My Bar Zeros are perfect as a convenient snack throughout the day or to consume around your training sessions to increase your protein consumption. They are a great snack for anyone with a sweet tooth and looking for a great-tasting, high protein bar.

On paper it looks like a great breakdown for a protein bar on a cutting diet, the carbs and fats are low and the protein is pretty good. The protein itself comes from milk so this would not be ideal for the lactose intolerant among you.

Taste
I had the chocolate flavour and it wasn’t the best tasting protein bar out there. It was usually melted onto the wrapper and a pain to actually eat. Whilst it is technically a bar it has the consistency of nougat and is soft and flexible. I wasn’t overly keen on this bar but some of the other available flavours look promising.

Side Effects
None

Price
£19.99 for a box of 12.

Results
Protein bars are supposed to fill the gaps in your meal plan or be a quick fix if something goes wrong. They are also usually absolutely delicious, not too great on the nutritional breakdown and carb heavy. MyProtein takes a crack a “diet” protein bar.

My Bar Zero actually has a pretty great nutritional breakdown providing a decent 19.6g of protein and low carbs and fats to keep you on track with your beach body aspirations. So you wouldn’t need to worry about ruining your carb cycle or any other diet I can think of. This bar could be slipped into most cutting diets.

Coming in at about £1.67 per bar they aren’t quite as cheap as MyProtein reputation might have you believe but they are still cheaper than the majority on the market. No side effects were experienced whilst eating My Bar Zero.

The only real thing letting down My Bar Zero is the taste but I don’t see how an Apple Cinnamon bar could be anything but delicious so maybe try that one instead of the chocolate. All things considered My Bar Zero is a solid choice to fill any gaps in your cutting diet. 7/10
