This is a fairly basic but effective preworkout line up. Only 300mg of caffeine is not overkill so it won’t be too harsh on your system if you are a little sensitive to stimulants. The Beta Alanine will increase your endurance and the Caffeine & Taurine will keep you focused and energised.

Taste

It only comes in Bubblegum flavour and it doesn’t taste that great and it has an unusual after taste as well. The whole “preworkout shot” idea is a little unusual but I like it, think of them as a Frube but one that will help you in the gym. It’s a sachet that you squeeze a gel into your mouth and that’s it, no mixing, no water, no fuss.

Results

The idea is great, a preworkout that you can have in your car or gym bag and that can be taken really simply and quickly. As a preworkout it works really well, you get an incredible energy surge that hits you within about 15 minutes, it feels like a “clean” energy rush as well, there is no come down crash. You get a nice pump from XCelR8, nothing earth shattering but solid. Where this product comes into its own is with endurance, I can’t think of any time when I had taken this that I ran out of energy. That for me is XCelR8’s stand out feature.

It doesn’t taste that great but to be honest it really doesn’t matter because it’s a preworkout, you don’t take it for the taste you take it to maximise your workout, also there is so little of it you don’t have long to taste it, it only takes about 5 seconds to do the “shot”. It’s incredibly handy to have in your car or gym bag and that is one of XCelR8’s best attributes. This deserves a place in your supplement stack. 8/10
