Protein Science have adopted a nice simple formula for their flagship product. 24g of protein made up from Whey Concentrate and Isolate with low fats and low carbs. It’s a simple but proven formula.

The only negative I have is that Sucralose has been used where Stevia might have been the healthier option. That’s a very minor gripe though.

Taste
I had the Vanilla and whilst it tasted fine like most Vanilla shakes it gets a little bit bland the longer you use it for. Fortunately Protein Science also make 80% Whey in Toffee, Chocolate & Banana for varieties sake. It mixes very well in a standard shaker.

£34.99 for a 2.25kg tub with 75 servings in meaning each shake works out to £0.47.

Results
Whey Protein shakes are likely your most used supplement and they help with so many vital things like muscle growth, maintenance, recovery, fat loss, basically anything fitness related a good whey can help. So there are a few key areas all whey products should excel at:

Nutritional Breakdown – if it’s loaded with bad sugar it’ll defeat the purpose.
Taste – you’re going to be drinking a lot of these so it helps if it tastes good.
Price – supplements are expensive so value is key.

Protein Science 80% Whey does have a very good nutritional breakdown, providing a solid 24g of protein with only 0.7g of sugars, low fat and carb too. The Vanilla flavour was a little bland but certainly not unpleasant and I never had any issues drinking it. Coming in at 47p a serving Protein Science’s offering won’t break the bank. Clearly Protein Science 80% Whey ticks all these boxes.

80% Whey is a basic supplement but a very versatile so it could be slotted into any diet plan to help you meet your goals. If you need a day to day protein shake then you can’t go far wrong with 80% Whey – plus they have some good bundle offers with this product included. 8/10
